Registration fees: $65 registration fee per athlete
- Individual events: $25 for the first and each additional event.
- Duilian and Group events: each athlete is required to pay an event fee of $25 per person per event.
- The Grand Championship registration and the National Kungfu Team Trial are $50 each.
Tickets and badges:
- Free admission for spectators. However, spectators should be seated in the designated areas.
- Each school will be given one coach badge and respective athletes badges.
- For schools with more than 10 athletes, additional coach badges will be given with 1:10 coach to athlete ratio.
Hosting Organization: Tai Chi Qigong Association of America (TCQGAA)
The Tai Chi Qigong Association of America (TCQGAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of professionals that is dedicated to the promotion of Tai Chi, Wushu and Health Qigong in the US and related cultural exchanges among countries, through organizing and coordinating teaching classes, training workshops, research forums, competitions, public expositions and other activities among various Tai Chi, Wushu and Health Qigong groups.
Sanction Organization: United States of America Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF)
The United States of America Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF) is the official United States representative to the 146 member-nation International Wushu Federation (IWUF). The USAWKF is the first and only organization in the U.S. to successfully develop regional and national activities, and its formation has tremendously improved the way Wushu-Kungfu events are managed and conducted in the U.S.
Competition Rules
Contemporary Wushu: conducted in accordance with the Wushu Taolu Competition Rules and Judging Methods (2024) endorsed by the IWUF.
- Adopting rules for events without Degree of Difficulty
- No required specifications on the competition weaponry
Traditional Wushu: conducted in accordance with the Traditional Wushu Competition Rules and Judging Methods (2019)
Health Qigong: conducted in accordance with the Health Qigong Competition Rules (2012)
Competition Grouping
Grouping Principles:
- Feature separate competitions for different styles and equipment categories.
- Grouping is designed based on the distribution of participants’ ages and the number of participants in each event.
Age Groups: (based on the age that the athletes turned or are turning in 2025)
6 years old and under
7-8 years old
9-10 years old
11-12 years old
13-14 years old
15-16 years old
17-18 years old
19-25 years old
26-30 years old
31-40 years old
41-55 years old
56-69 years old
70 years old and above
Time Requirement
- Athletes under the age of 18 are not subject to any time restrictions on their competition routines.
- No time restrictions on IWUF Compulsory Routines
- Athletes with the age of 18 and above are subject to the following time requirement:
- Taolu: no less than 1 minute
- Taiji and Health Qigong: 3 to 4 minutes
- Group Event: 30 seconds to 2 minutes
- Duilian: no less than 40 seconds
Ranking and Awards
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded in each of the individual, group, and duilian events. Specifically, the top 20% will receive gold medals. The next 30% will receive silver medals. The remaining 50% will receive bronze medals. The number of medals for each event will be adjusted to the actual number of athletes, rounded up or down. Events with 3 people or fewer may be combined in the same categories. Medals can be collected at the onsite award table immediately after each event.
Grand Champion Award
To be eligible to compete, an athlete will need to register for the Grand Championship during registration. Athletes should compete in at least 3 events, of which must include one barehand, one short weapon and one long weapon event. The organizing committee will combine the highest scores from each category to determine placing. The male and female athletes in each of the following age groups with the highest combined scores will receive the Grand Championship Award. The Grand Championship Award is given to two divisions. One is for contemporary wushu and the other is for traditional wushu.

The Grand Champions of each age group will be presented trophies and perform at the closing ceremony. The top two athletes with the highest combined scores will also be awarded a $500 and $300 Wushu Competition Scholarship respectively.
USAWKF National Kungfu Team Trials:
- Athletes must be valid members of USAWKF and register for the National Kungfu Team Trial
Membership registration: https://usawkf.org/membership-application/
- Athletes who score 8.0 or higher, or achieve a top-three ranking in any individual event are eligible for selection.
- Once selected, athletes are qualified to represent the USA Traditional Kungfu Team in Pan American Wushu Championships, Taijiquan Championships, or World Kungfu Championships, within two years.
- Once reviewed and confirmed by the USAWKF, the USA Traditional Kungfu Team certificates will be distributed.
Media rights: The organizing committee has the right to use the photos, videos and name introductions of all participating groups and individuals for the promotion of the organizing committee’s events.
Liability: Participants are required to have their own liability insurance. By registering to this event, participants fully agree to the disclaimer of the competition organizer and voluntarily waive the right of prosecution.
The organizing committee reserves the right to the event and to make final decisions.
Check-in:
Judges should report on Friday, April 18th, 2025. All other participants may report at 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, April 18th, 2025 or at 7:00-8:30am on Saturday, April 19th, 2025. Participating schools can also reach out to the organizing committee to collect badges in advance.
