On Saturday 7/13, the members of the Tai Chi Youth Group competed at the Presidential Wushu Cup in Maryland. Our 18 athletes that took part in the competition earned 1 bronze, 7 silver, and 42 GOLD medals! Congratulations to all athletes for an amazing competition!
Today, Sitan Tai Chi held a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at their our campus in Huntington, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our school in community service and education. As part of the ceremony, there was a dragon dance performance. Many community leaders and representatives attended the celebration.
This May, Tai Chi Youth Group members and athletes from Sitan Tai Chi and Martial Arts competed at the National Team Trials, National Ranking, and National Championship in Santa Clara, California. Several of our members won medals in their respective events. Additionally, Katie Yan and Ethan Yip (our vice president and our treasurer) have qualified to become members of the National Junior Wushu Taolu team! Congrats to Katie and Ethan and everyone who took part of the competition!

This year, the Tai Chi Youth Group will be celebrating World Taichi and Qigong Day at Mineral Springs in Central Park on April 27th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Taichi and qigong are traditional Chinese sports that have its roots deep in history and has millions of practitioners Everyone, from all levels and ages, is welcome and encouraged to participate.
This event will include a taichi workshop led by two-time taichi World Champion, the “Prince of Taichi,” Sitan Chen! Hope to see you there!
On March 29th, the Tai Chi Youth Group demonstrated a series of wushu and tai chi routines for the seniors at the Golden Eagle Senior Center. Their lively performance made the day of many of senior citizens. The Tai Chi Youth Group taught the elderly citizens a few basic qigong movements. The Tai Chi Youth Group would like to thank the Golden Eagle Senior Center for this opportunity!
